Thank You For Your Support

You might have given a dollar at the tree lighting ceremony, or dropped a dollar in our bucket at the train station or in town. Maybe you wrote a letter or said a simple prayer on behalf of our troops. Perhaps you brought items to our council for us to ship. Maybe you sent a check to help with the cost of shipping, or provided free advertisement.

The Knights of Columbus #6911 of Massapequa Park would like to thank the entire community for their support of our Adopt-A-Battalion program. Since the program was initiated in Nov., 2004, we have been able to ship 2,500 cartons of donated items, valued in excess of $110,000. We have sent over 9,000 cards and letters of support written by students of local schools. We were able to spend $26,000 in postage fees, thanks entirely to your generosity.

It is amazing how such a simple idea can affect the lives of so many wonderful people in such a positive way. Our servicemen and women, many of whom are our friends, family or neighbors, serving in Iraq or Afghanistan have truly appreciated all the support the community has provided. Your support has and continues to help them get through a very difficult time in their lives. They know their sacrifice is appreciated. So, thanks to everyone who supported or participated in our program.
