The Massapequa Jr. Women's Club (the "MJWC") is a non-profit organization made up of women devoting their time to help Massapequans in need. Holding various community events to raise money, it donates to philanthropic organizations and three "adopted" families within the Greater Massapequas. "There are a lot of Massapequans that are in need and we're trying to help all of them," said Club President, Loretta Maniaci.
Began in the 1980's as a way for young mothers and housewives to give back to their community, the MJWC evolved into the force it is today. The Club now has 6 women on its executive board and 29 integral members. Gaining strength as a group, it has moved into the 21st Century and is utilizing the World Wide Web to bring more attention to its members, the causes important to them and fundraising events. Events scheduled for 2008 include: Family Bowling as Massapequa Bowl, Tennis at Sportime and "Vegas Night" at the Manor East. If you are interested in donating to or joining the MJWC, contact Loretta Maniaci, President, at (516) 695-8187.

Robert and Chef Anna Rumore, host and hostess of MJWC Holiday Dinner
On Wednesday, December 12, 2007, the Massapequa Jr. Women's Club held it's Annual Holiday Dinner at the home of Robert and Anna Rumore. It was a holiday extravaganza, complete with festive decorations, cocktails and a delicious five-course meal prepared by chef and hostess Anna Rumore. The LCC Catering Company was on hand to serve. While the holidays are a simple excuse for spreading sisterly love, the MJWC brings a little cheer with every event they hold.
The Massapequa Junior Women's Club held "Comedy Night" at the Brokerage Comedy Club in Bellmore on Sunday, November 11th. It was a night of laughter, fun and charity, as comedians took the stage and Junior Women sold raffle tickets for a variety of fantastic prizes. Prizes included themed gift baskets, containing sports memoribilia, baby products, spa treatment packages, hand-made American Girl clothing, and much more. The Club also sold their signature cookbook to attendees of the event. The money that was raised will be distributed to several different orgnizations that the MJWC supports, as well as to three Massapequa families in need that the Club has adopted. This is the MJWC's third comedy event, and there was quite a turnout! The audience roared, as comedians, Chris Monty, Tim Gage, Saad Sarwana, Joe Devitto, and headliner Rich Ramirez performed throughout the night. The MJWC's Comedy Night was a great success, bringing smiles to the faces of not only those watching the show, but the Massapequans it benefits.
