New York Islanders Team Store Grand Opening in Massapequa
Goaltender, Rick DiPietro, signed autographs at the newest Islanders Team Store at the Westfield Sunrise Mall in Massapequa on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from 6-8 pm. Islanders fans now have a brand new place to call their own. The Team Store at the Westfield Sunrise Mall has some new amenities that should not be missed. In another example of the Islanders succeeding in bringing the fans as close to the action as possible, an IslandersTV remote studio has been built into the store. Broadcasts of upcoming Islanders shows are scheduled to be taped in the Team Store for fans to watch.
In addition, a special Rick DiPietro section has been created with a variety of memorabilia featuring the Islanders goalie.
"Ricky had a hand in creating his section and played a big role in designing the sign," said Terry Goldstein, Director of Retail Operations. "He has been very involved with designing memorabilia in his collection. He is currently working with New Era to design a special 'DP' cap."
