Nassau County Police Commissioner Creates New DWI Enforcement Team
Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence W. Mulvey announces the creation of a DWI Impact Team that will begin patrolling target hot spots in Nassau County beginning this weekend May 30, 2008.
Based on recommendations from commanding officers from each of the county’s eight precincts, these patrols will focus their efforts on arresting DWI offenders at specific locations that have been identified as prolific areas and venues for DWI offenses.In addition, the DWI Impact Team will also concentrate their efforts to arrest Boating While Intoxicated violators on our waterways.
Commissioner Mulvey stated “This initiative is another example of the various programs the Nassau County Police Department will incorporate as we continue to aggressively combat this trend that puts all our citizens at risk while traveling the roadways”
The Department will continue to provide the media with the identities and photographs of those arrested for DWI offenses.
