The Italian Cultural Society at Farmingdale was organized in 1975 when sparked by a Columbus Day festival.The mainobject of the Society is to be instrumental in educating those interested in Italianculture and in enhancinginterest in Italian traditions. An importantpurpose is to promote a positive image of Italians and Italian-Americans.Ascholarship award has beenestablished bythe Society and given tothe highest achiever in Italian language and culture.A very informative newsletter called the "Notizario" is mailed to members monthly.Free Italian lessons precede each monthly meeting.
The Italian Cultural Society meets at the Ellsworth W. Allen Park the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm, to enjoy Italian-American Cultural events. A speaker is invited each month to enhance the culture, cake and coffee is served to all and friendships are treasured.
