Top Story: Crimes Against Property Internet Child Exploitation Section Investigation Leads to Arrest of Massapequa Park Man
On Thursday March, 24, 2011 police arrested Michael Kramer (pictured below), 61, of First Avenue, Massapequa Park for possession of child pornography.  According to detectives, the defendant utilized an online file sharing website to promote numerous images containing sexual performances of a child.  The investigation also revealed the defendant was in possession of over 400 additional images of child pornography. Kramer is employed as a substitute teacher for the Cold Spring Harbor School District.  The defendant was charged with (3) three counts of Promoting Sexual Performance of a Child and (2) two counts of Possession of Sexual Performance of a Child.  He was arraigned on Friday March 25, 2011 at First District Court in Hempstead.  FULL STORY on massapequaNEWS.com

N.C. Executive Ed Mangano honored women business leaders at a Women’s History Month Celebration on March 29, 2011. The honorees, Vicki Mate-The Crispery in Roslyn; Roberta Perry-Scrubz Body Scrub, Inc. in Bethpage; Stacey Rose-Cartridge World of Mineola/Garden City; Susan Axelrod-Love and Quiches Desserts in Freeport; Noreen Carro-LMN Printing Co., Inc. in Valley Stream; and Dilcia Granville, Ph.D.-Dip & See LLC in Elmont, were recognized for their efforts in promoting the interests of women.


Town of Oyster Bay Councilwoman Beth Faughnan announced that the “Great Sounds of Jazz” series will feature the Isotope Stompers Dixieland on Sunday, April 10, 2011at New York Institute of Technology’s Salten Hall, beginning at 3:00 p.m.  The performance is free to Town residents.


2011 Nassau County Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged will take place June 2nd - 4th at Mitchel Athletic Complex and N.C. College.  In its 27th year, the Games will take place due to the generosity of sponsors, Nassau County, King Kullen and Hofstra University.  Residents can Save the Games by donating at www.SaveTheGames.org.
