Headliners: Massapequa Arrest for Burglary & Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument

According to detectives, the defendant, Jonathan M Singer, 26, entered Toys R Us located at 5520 Sunrise Hwy and walked into a restricted area for employee only. An employee observed the defendant attempting to break into the vending machines.  When questioned by the employee the defendant fled the store. He then went to Burlington Coat Factory located at 5500 Sunrise Hwy. in Massapequa, where he again entered a restricted employee only area. When confronted by an employee defendant fled from the store into his 2001 Ford.

 A short time later, officers stopped defendant’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Sunrise Mall where he was placed under arrest and found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Singer was charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, he will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on 2/3/10.
